Three new luxury openings in Los Cabos

Known as “Land’s End” for being located at the tip of the southern Baja California Península, Mexico’s Los Cabos boasts breathtaking seas, desert, mountains, and a growing portfolio of luxury resorts. Here’s three new openings planned for 2018

Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
Set along the dramatic coastline of San José del Cabo with panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez, Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve will make its debut in 2018. This much anticipated opening marks the fourth extraordinary resort in the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Reserve portfolio, and the second in the Caribbean and Mexico region. Built within the steppes of the desert landscape, the resort takes inspiration from the surrounding dunes. Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve will feature 115 elegantly appointed suites and villas, many with their own private plunge pools. The Reserve also features a collection of Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residences, two championship golf courses and a botanical park with the desert flora.

Four Seasons Resort & Residences, Los Cabos at Costa Palma
Also set to open this year, Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is part of the exclusive Costa Palmas resort, which boasts a private marina and members-only beach and yacht club, all set along a two-mile (3.2 kilometre) stretch of immaculate white-sand beach and the warm, swimmable waters of the Sea of Cortez. The 145-room resort will feature multiple pools, extensive indoor and outdoor event and wedding facilities, five unique dining outlets, a Robert Trent Jones II signature 18-hole golf course, full-service spa and progressive fitness facilities. It will also be connected to an ocean-side marina village, complete with artisanal boutiques, additional dining options and locally-curated music and art.

Viceroy Los Cabos
The Viceroy Hotel Group has taken over management of the architecturally stunning Hotel Mar Adentro, originally created by leading Mexican architect Miguel Angel Aragonés. The striking hotel will re-launch this Spring as Viceroy Los Cabos, the group’s 14th property, and a member of The Viceroy Icon Collection. The launch will coincide with the resort hosting the 2018 ‘Gala de Danza,’ a dance and music festival celebrating artistry and creativity. Renovations and updates to be revealed in the spring opening will include a new beach bar and pool, and an expanded, redesigned state-of-the-art fitness centre and spa. Two of the four existing dining outlets will also be updated and the resort will offer a cinema room for movie screenings and versatile meeting spaces. Upon completion, Viceroy Los Cabos will feature 194 rooms, suites and villas, and 50 residences.
