Three hot hotel openings in Bali

With a host of hot new hotels opening their doors in 2018, Bali’s back in vogue. Here’s our pick of three of the best…

COMO Uma Canggu
Located in Canggu on the southern coast of Bali, COMO Uma Canggu offers panoramic views of the soft volcanic sand and rolling waves on one side, and rice paddies on the other. Opened last month, the 119-room resort includes one- and two-bedroom residences as well as three-bedroom duplex penthouses featuring individual rooftop pools.

COMO Beach Club will be the hub of the resort and its main restaurant, focusing on ‘new world cuisine’ elevated with Australian contemporary flair. Those seeking wellness will be catered for at the new COMO Shambhala Retreat with seven treatment rooms, and Asian-inspired therapies complemented by yoga and pilates classes daily. With surfing being one of the major attractions, the resort has partnered with Tropicsurf to provide surf lessons and guidance for novices to surf pros, with a six-mile stretch of beach as the training grounds.

Six Senses Uluwatu
Set atop a rugged cliff, Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali shares a spectacular view with the island’s famed Uluwatu Temple, one of the key temples believed to be Bali’s spiritual pillars. True to Six Senses’ inimitable style, Six Senses Bali includes 28 sky villas, 62 one-bedroom villas and seven two-bedroom villas that draw upon the local culture, embrace nature and offer every creature comfort.

Six Senses Spa features locally inspired specialty treatments together with and extensive range of signature therapies. There are multi-day wellness programs and detox, as well as a selection of activities and complimentary morning yoga. Onsite activities include a vast central pool, and event lawn to compliment the beautiful ballroom, meeting rooms and a wedding pavilion. The resort is scheduled to open in 2018.

Wyndham Dreamland Resort Bali
Just steps from Dreamland Beach and nestled among luxurious beach clubs and championship golf courses, Wyndham Dreamland Resort Bali is a beautiful sanctuary located in a secluded area of Pecatu. The upscale resort features a striking fusion of traditional Balinese and modern design across 177 rooms encompassing seven spacious room categories.

Guests can indulge the palate with a feast of gourmet offerings at the resort’s three food and beverage outlets. There are two outdoor swimming pools, each overlooking the tranquil gardens, as well as a Tirta Spa, a complex with a total of six single and couple treatment rooms, plus a yoga deck. The resort is well-equipped for seminars, meetings or social events with four venues available. The largest function room, which is flanked by floor to ceiling windows, can accommodate up to 300 people for a seminar or 250 for a banquet. Three small meeting rooms are perfect for boardroom discussions or break-out sessions.
