First look at Seven Pines Resort Ibiza

inVOYAGE got a sneak peek at the almost-completed luxury Seven Pines Resort Ibiza on the island’s stunning West Coast and we think the finished product will be well worth the wait.

Seven Pines, a new hotel brand and concept and inVOYAGE 2018 partner, was originally scheduled to open in 2017 but the project was delayed until this year with the grand opening taking place on 2 June. While the hotel completes final work on the main public areas, we had the pleasure of staying at and touring the property last weekend (21-23 June).

Arriving in Ibiza on a late (and rather rowdy) flight from London Gatwick, a taxi whisked us away from the revellers heading to Ibiza Town and San Antonio, into the starry night and over to the beautifully quiet and chilled West Coast of the island. As it was dark when we arrived, we had to wait until morning to appreciate the full glory of the view over the iconic rock formation of Es Vedrà and the azure waters of the Mediterranean (pictured above) from our suite – it really is something!

The resort is designed in Ibicenco village-style, with 186 one and two-bedroom suites spread out across the two-floor white-wash houses, set amongst gardens. We’ll start with the finished Laguna Suites, pool area and bar, where we stayed. Described as a “resort within a resort”, lower-floor suites open out onto the lovely Laguna pool area, which has its own bar, serving food and drinks throughout the day, while the upstairs suites have a large terrace and those views!

Secluded and exclusive, these suites would be ideal for clients looking to take over a private area for a meeting or incentive. Despite the gold doors (which we love), the suites are not flashy – with contemporary and chic décor in neutral tones with turquoise accents, and plenty of natural light.

When it came to the rest of the property, with works still ongoing, a little imagination was needed to picture the resort in its finished form. The contemporary meeting facilities are located on the cliff top above the main reception building, with floor to ceiling windows offering natural light and views over the sea, and an outdoor terrace for coffee breaks.

Throughout the restaurants, including The View with an open-kitchen concept, and The Cone Club, décor is stylish and unique, with lots of quirky touches through interesting lighting and artwork. And the Pershing Yacht Terrace, when complete, will be the perfect spot to sip on a cocktail and watch the sunset – due to the resort’s location on the West Coast, it will pretty much allow guests to see the sunset all year round.

Meanwhile, every staff member we met couldn’t have been more friendly, attentive and professional, in their crisp white and blue uniforms. Unlike many Ibiza hotels, that only open for the season from April/May to October, Seven Pines is aiming to be a year-round resort, making it ideal for corporate groups that want somewhere with pleasant weather on the shoulder seasons.

But even during the summer season, expect the vibe here to be more chilled than the high-end hotels in the island’s busier resorts. And there will be incentive options aplenty, from yoga, horse-riding and hiking to kayaking in the caves, or a private party out at sea on the resort’s private boat.
