Conrad Seoul’s 1/3/5 curated experiences

Got some downtime between meetings in the South Korean capital and not sure what to do? Check out Conrad Seoul’s 1/3/5 – a curated list of experiences for how to fill 1, 3 or 5 hours in the vibrant city, from sipping cocktails in hip hangouts to exploring traditional Korean culture.

One-hour itineraries include a range of hotspots – immerse yourself in both Korean and international art at architectural marvel, The Leeum Samsung museum, designed by Mario Botta or dive into another world at Aqua Planet 63.

After a busy day, kick off your evening with sunset drinks at The Top Hat, a rooftop cocktail bar with killer views of Seoul’s latest starchitect creation — Dongdaemun Design Plaza by Zaha Hadid.

If you have three hours downtime, head to Unistella, home of nail artists to the stars (including the likes of Lee Hyori, dubbed the “Queen of K-pop”) for a celebrity manicure – make sure to book an appointment first!

Stroll through the alleyways of Hannam-dong  your pick of the coolest homegrown fashion and design brands or chill out at a jjimjilbang, or Korean sauna. The most accessible and English-friendly is the Dragon Hill Spa, a mega-complex that includes various kinds of dry saunas (with names like “yellow mud” and “rock salt,” each with their own healing properties).

If you’ve half a day to spare, start with a morning cooking class at O’ngo Foods with levels ranging from basic to expert. The beginner level starts with a market tour at 9:30am, and courses include bulgogi and kimchi; seafood pancake and soft tofu stew; and stone bowl bibimbap.

Other five-hour suggestions include a visit to Daelim Museum, which brings in fashion, design, media installations, performance art and more from around the world, or hike Seoul’s Fortress Walls – is one of the best ways to experience the city’s ancient history, take in its natural beauty and enjoy some amazing views.

Come and meet with Conrad Seoul at inVOYAGE 2018 – taking place at the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khamiah on 1-4 October. The five-star property offers 434 rooms and meeting space for up to 1,200 right in the heart of the Yeouido Business District – known as Korea’s “Wall Street”.
