The Boathouse Lounge, Westin Dragonara, Malta

This week’s #foodiegram comes straight from the water’s edge – the Maltese waters that is. The much-loved Westin Dragonara Resort in St Julian’s is an established favourite with locals, holidaymakers and business groups alike, and its gastronomic offering continues to evolve. The Boathouse Lounge offers a relaxed experience within the original 19th century boathouse with a wine and tapas menu created by chef Jonathan Vella and his team.

Open daily during the summer months, guests can feast upon the grande coppa, a cornucopia of fresh seafood which includes mussels, Mediterranean prawns, clams, oysters, lobster and langoustine served with lemon and lime. Favoured choices include seared quail breasts with pickled quail eggs, shaved asparagus spears, Maldon salt and truffle vinaigrette followed by the Cheese Board, which includes reypenaer, gorgonzola and goats cheese.

The Boathouse is a welcome addition to the property, which boasts an additional four restaurants, with home-baked pizzas and pasta on offer at Palio’s Restaurant, the grill at The Terrace, hearty cuisine in the bustling ORVM bar plus the refined Quadro Restaurant, regularly voted the best fine dining restaurant in Malta.

The Westin Dragonara Resort will be attending inVOYAGE 2017 in partnership with Conventions Malta.
