Experience This….Cuba with Regent Seven Seas Cruises

Cuba calling! And what finer way to experience this than in luxury – or rather ‘immersive luxury’ to be precise. Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the only North American luxury cruise line to offer voyages to Cuba, has redefined luxury with its 2019 and 2020 itineraries.

Seven Seas Mariner will offer what the line has dubbed its ‘first immersive Cuba itinerary’ in October 2019, stopping by Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.

The immersive part comes in the form of group, people-to-people activities “intended to enhance contact with the Cuban people, and to immerse in the island’s culture”. These include excursions to explore the island’s music, art, history and culture.

In Havana, guests can learn about the city’s Baroque, neoclassical and Renaissance architecture while in Cienfuegos, the Valle de los Ingenios (Valley of the Sugar Mills), a World Heritage site, and its Colonial-era architecture is worth exploring.

Santiago de Cuba offers an insightful glance at the vestiges of Cuban history, with a trip to San Juan Hill to learn about the 18th century battle which led to the end of Spanish rule.

Havana has also been added into Seven Seas Navigator’s April 2020 voyage and these two new itineraries are part of eight future Regent voyages that include visits to Cuba.
