As if Paris didn’t have enough fine restaurants to choose from, one of the grandes dames of the culinary scene is back, gifting Saint-Germain-des-Prés with a new brasserie to visit.
This iconic spot has been restored back to its original 1910 layout and welcomes in Gérald Passedat, owner of the three Michelin-starred restaurant Le Petit Nice in Marseille, as its head chef. And he is set to bring the sunshine of the Mediterranean to the menu, creating seafood dishes as a signature twist, to complement the brasserie’s vibrant sea bar.
This new address for Parisians and visitors brings together two dining rooms, plus outdoor tables and terraces for alfresco meals, while intimate parties can be hosted in the private dining suites.
Pick a classic starter of Duck foie gras with seaweed before venturing on to main courses – the whole sea-bream, flambéed in pastis liquor is destined to become a firm favourite while home comforts are evoked with the delightful veal cannelloni “comme à la maison”. The liquorice soufflé must not be missed.
