Raffles brand to debut in India

Accor is to bring its iconic Raffles brand to India with the launch of not one, but two new hotels – Raffles Jaipur and Raffles Udaipur.

The announcement signals a new direction for Accor in India, with a stronger focus on luxury and premium brands.

India’s state of Rajasthan is unique for its rich heritage and tradition and is famous for its spectacular palaces and forts. Jaipur forms part of the culturally rich tourist circuit known as The Golden Triangle, which comprises New Delhi, Agra and Jaipur; while Udaipur is a natural extension of this given its proximity to Jaipur.

Situated on a 21-acre private island in Udai Sagar lake, Raffles Udaipur the 101-room resort is expected to open by mid-2020. Easily accessed from Udaipur’s main attractions, the resort will include Raffles’ Signatures such as an 1,100sqm Raffles Spa, Long Bar, and Writers Bar along with a rooftop restaurant and an all-day dining restaurant, a swimming pool, and deck. 

Located in Kukas, Raffles Jaipur will feature a set of exclusive private residences and courtyards. Adjacent to Fairmont Jaipur and close to key tourist attractions such as Amer Fort (pictured above), Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort, and Jal Mahal complexes, the hotel is expected to open in 2022.

Raffles, which joined the Accor network in 2015, currently has 13 properties across 11 countries and a strong pipeline that will see the portfolio double in the next few years.
