Known as the Hawaii of China, high-end beach resort Sanya has a new luxury kid on the block with the opening of the Rosewood Sanya in August.
In keeping with the brand’s ‘A Sense of Place philosophy’, the resort’s design incorporates wood, tribal totems and aquatic elements to create a serene and contemporary space, celebrating the beauty of nature and the serenity of the ocean.
All 246 guestrooms are ocean facing and 45 guestrooms include balcony plunge pools. A dramatic 110-meter infinity-edge sky pool on the 13th floor offers sweeping South China Sea views, alongside HAI infinity pool bar, which serves up standard classics and signature drinks crafted by a resident mixologist, and East Kitchen restaurant offering simple yet delicious comfort foods.
Other dining options include The Fishmonger, a market-style restaurant with open kitchens that entertain and provide a feast for the senses, and The Chop House serving up the freshest produce grilled to perfection. There’s also Sense, A Rosewood Spa and a multitude of activities for all groups to enjoy, from watersports enthusiasts to golfing aficionados.
Rosewood Sanya is part of an integrated resort set within 40 acres of landscaped gardens surrounding the Sanya Forum, the largest convention centre in Haitang Bay. The hotel’s 3,425 square metres of meeting space include a 1,500 square-metre pillarless grand ballroom and six function spaces. It also offers The Pavilion, a sophisticated residential-style venue with a spacious outdoor terrace offering full sea views.
