As Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express hits the silver screen, propelling Agatha Christie’s famed murder mystery back in vogue, guests at Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts are invited to step back in time and experience their own mystery.
Get your first clue at Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel in Belgravia, the original start of the Orient Express line, where guests will be given a Turkish ‘evil eye’ to protect them, plus a copy of the Murder on the Orient Express book from nearby Belgravia Books. After a day of scouting around mix your own Grasshopper cocktail, which features Poirot’s favourite Crème de Menthe.
The adventure continues in Istanbul at Jumeirah’s luxurious Pera Palace Hotel, originally built to greet guests of the Orient Express. In Room 411, renamed the Agatha Christie room, the author is rumoured to have penned Murder on the Orient Express and the luckiest of fans have the option to stay here, amidst her collection of novels and replica typewriter. Themed cocktails, a dinner in the hotel’s Agatha restaurant, a tour of the old city and a visit to the Sirkeci Train station, one of the last stops of the Orient Express, complete the experience.
