French classic gets a chic new look

The City of Lights is celebrating the return of one of its brightest stars – the legendary Hotel Barriere Le Fouquet’s – which has a chic new look following a complete overhaul. The hotel, which enjoys a prime spot between Avenue George V and the Champs-Elysées just a short distance from the Arc de Triomphe, reopened in July after a six-month closure and full renovation.

Interior designer Jacques Garcia based the redesign on three pillars: “Warmth, comfort and elegance, introducing some 1950s/1960s chic with elegant wooden paneling and Harcourt photographs recalling the pencil skirts that preceded Givenchy’s suits, plus the narrow men’s neckties with tie pins.

The hotel’s 81 rooms have been updated, as has Le Marta bar with its “Coffee Society” feel and furniture upholstered in rich tones of gold, green, purple and red velvet. The first floor opens on to the Le Joy bar-restaurant, which also gives access to a snug library decorated in ebony wood, as well as one of the most exceptional terraces in Paris – an oasis of cushions and cocktails bathed in beautiful light.

Renovation works will continue with the addition of an extra floor in 2018, offering 19 new rooms and suites to discover, all offering breathtaking views of the Champs-Elysées.

Barriere Hotels & Resorts will be attending inVOYAGE 2017.
