Linthwaite House unveils £10m refurb

The Lake District has a welcome new accommodation addition in the form of Linthwaite House, which has reopened its doors following a year-long £10 million refurbishment.

Each of the property’s 30 bedrooms have been transformed to reflect the dreamy colours of the natural surrounds, with British furniture makers and fabric designers providing the furnishings to create a contemporary country house for the ultimate unwind.

Subtle references to the parent company, Lee Collection, and their African heritage are evident in the artworks and leopard-print backing on the chairs and zebra print cushions.

VIPs should check out the six newly-created Woodland Suites, set to open in Autumn 2018, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out across Windermere and an open plan bedroom leading to a large living space.

Celebrity chef Ritu Dalmia, renowned for her Italian flavours, has lead the culinary plans at the property’s new restaurant, Stella, where guests can enjoy locally sourced organic produce. The Italian twist is evident in the striking bar and conservatory which serves an all-day dining menu with an impressive selection of pizza.

Guests that venture in to the 14 acres of hotel grounds can admire the striking sculptures, play garden chess or croquet before settling in at the bar to enjoy the incredible views.
