Aman launches wellness-focused lifestyle brand Janu

Luxury hotel brand Aman has announced a new wellness-oriented lifestyle brand called Janu.

Janu launches with three forthcoming hotels which are already under construction: Montenegro (2022), Al Ula in Saudi Arabia (2022) and Tokyo (2022), as well as a robust pipeline of future hotels.

Meaning ‘soul’ in Sanskrit, Janu will focus on social wellness, encouraging guests to reconnect with themselves and with others.

Commenting on the brand launch, Aman Chairman and CEO Vladislav Doronin said: “We saw a white space in the market, and we want to push the hotel industry into a new sphere. What with today’s modern fast-paced society, which has seen human connection and communication redefined by the digital world, we wanted to create a new hotel brand with a soul and with the aim of kickstarting human interaction again.”

Janu properties will offer “dynamic” social spaces and expansive wellness facilities with cutting-edge experiences and treatments and access to the latest equipment as well as extensive hydro and thermal facilities with a focus on finding equilibrium.

The hotels will feature a mix of dining, lounge and bar areas, where guests can expect culinary concepts such as low-temperature cooking or harnessing the benefits of fermentation, dramatic open kitchens and lively countertop displays.

Aman has 32 hotels in 20 countries, nine under construction and a strong pipeline in place. The brand is set to make its debut in New York later this year, with the opening being named one of the top ten hotel openings in 2020 by luxury event professionals in the inVOYAGE Annual Report.
