Aman signs new hotel in Italy

Luxury hotel brand Aman is to expand its Italian portfolio with the addition of a property in the UNESCO-listed Dolomiti mountains.

The brand has signed a partnership agreement with Rosa Alpina Hotel & Spa in San Cassiano, a luxury property owned by the Pizzinini family, who have been at the helm for three generations.

It will be Aman’s second location in Italy, joining the Aman Venice.

Rosa Alpina, which offers 52 rooms and suites, provides easy access to 1,200 kilometres of ski slopes within the Dolomiti Superski region, while in summer and autumn, visitors can explore the Dolomites’ dramatic valleys on foot or bike.

The onsite three-star Michelin restaurant, St. Hubertus is an indulgent foray into Italian cuisine, where the hotel’s Executive Chef, Norbert Niederkofler is set to continue his journey with Aman, having served as a consultant at Aman Venice since 2019.

The hotel, which also offers a spa, indoor pool, gym and hammam, will become a fully branded Aman in December 2022 – in time to welcome guests for the winter season.

The transition will begin this year, with Aman taking over the property's marketing services, sales and on-the-ground operations over the next 18 months.

“Aman has always prided itself on offering unique experiences in remarkable settings and our partnership with Rosa Alpina will deliver just this. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the Pizzinini family, in particular Hugo and Ursula, and we look forward to maintaining and celebrating the history of the property all while uniting it with Aman’s philosophy. We will unveil Rosa Alpina as Aman Rosa Alpina in 2022 in what will be our 14th UNESCO site,” said Vladislav Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman.

Rosa Alpina is scheduled to open for the winter season on 11 December 2020, closing 5 April 2021.
