Barrière Group makes Caribbean debut

Barriere Group has debuted its first Caribbean property this month (1 November) with the opening of the Hotel Barriere Le Carl Gustaf in dreamy St Barth.

Overlooking the port of Gustavia, the island’s capital, the luxury boutique property houses 24 rooms, including 13 cottages and two junior suites – each featuring a private terrace and plunge pool – plus a private home boasting six bedrooms, a pool and multiple terraces.

The property, the original Le Carl Gustaf, which closed several years ago, was redesigned and scheduled to open in late 2018, but delayed by Hurricane Irma.

Its prime location is ideal for exploring all that St Barth’s has to offer, from its white-sand beaches, tropical landscape and turquoise bays dotted with yachts, to its luxury designer boutiques and fine dining opportunities.

The hotel itself will feature a Fouquet’s restaurant, the French group’s famed Parisian brasserie, and the more relaxed Shellona, overlooking Shell Beach and serving Mediterranean and Caribbean-inspired dishes such as coconut milk-infused mahi-mahi fish by Greek chef Yannis Kioroglou.

For guests in need of pampering, the hotel’s Diane Barrière Spa employs French skincare techniques, and a unique spa treatment menu includes facials, massages and body treatments.
