Experience This: Belmond excursions

The striking Belmond Royal Scotsman has launched a programme of bespoke excursions to take guests out of the opulent comfort of the luxury train and in to the wilds of Scotland.

Guests can now choose from a number of enviable experiences including stargazing under skies in the Cairngorms National Park with their own personal astrologer on hand to explain the constellations. A gourmet late-night picnic can be prepared for midnight feasting. 

For the more energetic, a series of adventures in the Scottish landscape are on offer from hiking through the gorges of picturesque Aviemore to canoeing on Loch Ness in search of its elusive monster or paragliding in Fort William.

The two to four-night itineraries combine all the comfort and luxury of life onboard the exclusive 40-passenger Belmond Royal Scotsman with a chance to explore some of the delights of Scotland.

Golf enthusiasts can enjoy teeing off at some of Scotland’s finest courses including Gleneagles, Royal Donorch golf club, Castle Stuart golf links and Kingbarns golf links.

Other outdoor pursuits include falconry, quad biking. guided cycle tours and clay pigeon shooting at venues including Rothiemurchus Estate. Meanwhile out on the water, kayaking, a fishing trip in Pitlochry and a magical dolphin-spotting trip in the Moray Firth can be arranged.
