Bvlgari sets sights on Rome for tenth luxury hotel
Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts has announced it plans to open a hotel in the luxury brand’s birthplace of Rome in 2022.
The hotel will be located in the Campo Marzio neighbourhood in Piazza Augusto Imperatore, close to Via del Corso, Via Condotti and the Spanish Steps.
As with all the brand’s hotels, Bvlgari Hotel Roma will be designed by Italian architectural firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel.
Set in a magnificent modernist building from the 1930s, the 100-room property will conjure the grandeur of the Eternal City throughout its rooms and suites and signature Bvlgari spaces like Il Ristorante curated by Michelin-starred chef Niko Romito and The Bvlgari Bar.
The luxury hotel will also include a range of additional facilities, including a high-end spa with an indoor swimming pool, and a state-of-the-art gym, offering Bvlgari’s exclusive Workshop training method. As a unique feature, the Bvlgari Hotel Roma will also present a Reading Room containing a collection of precious volumes dedicated to the history of jewellery.
Founded in Rome in 1884 as a jewellery shop, Bvlgari is now part of luxury conglomerate LVMH, and since forming a joint venture in 2001, hotel development under the brand has been managed by Marriott International.
Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts Collection counts six properties in Milan, London, Bali, Beijing, Dubai, Shanghai, which will be further extended, between 2021 and 2023, with openings in Paris, Moscow and Tokyo.
