Charity Announced for inVOYAGE Madrid

As excitement builds for inVOYAGE Madrid, we’re delighted to announce our partnership with local charity FIET to help uplift individuals, especially women and children, who have been victims of human trafficking. So, with that in mind, we sit down with Marta from Spanish Heritage to unravel the story behind FIET and the impactful initiatives planned for our inVOYAGERs…

inVOYAGE: As part of inVOYAGE Madrid, we felt it was really important to help give back to the destination and use our voice and community of inVOYAGERs to help make an impact on some of the challenges that women in Madrid face. So, when we heard about Fiet, and the incredible work they do, it was an easy decision, to get involved . So, with that in mind Marta, could you explain a bit more about what it is Fiet do?

Marta, Spanish Heritage: Yes of course, it’s actually an organisation that’s very close to our hearts. FIET is a non-governmental organizstion based in Madrid and has been at the forefront of addressing the critical issue of human trafficking for the past 15 years. The organisation focuses on providing new life opportunities to individuals, predominantly women and children, who find themselves in vulnerable situations due to human trafficking.

“Every action, as small as it may seem, leads to major changes”

inVOYAGE: An incredible organisation for an important cause! Now, without giving away too much, could you give us a small taste of what our inVOYAGERs will be doing during the event to help give back?

Marta, Spanish Heritage: During InVOYAGE Madrid 2024 the guests will work together on making some kits with health and personal items that have been donated by hotels. With this action, numerous women will receive resources to leave the situation they are currently living and will generate improvement their life quality. Even though there’s still a long way ahead, we hope this collaboration can bring them one step closer to recovery.

inVOYAGE: Can you tell us a bit more about what made you choose this organisation?

Spanish Heritage: It’s not the first time we’ve collaborated with Fiet and we find it incredible encouraging to see all the hard work they have been doing these past few years to help women. Just in 2023 alone, they were able to help 1410 women that had been sexually trafficked – a real feat! Not only does their work go towards helping women, but also their children who are forced to grow up without the chance that all their peers have. We are so grateful to have discovered them and look forward to working with them to bring hope and new life to the people affected.

inVOYAGE Madrid is set to make a lasting impact on the lives of women facing challenges in the vibrant city, partnering with FIET, a non-governmental organization based in Madrid, dedicated to creating new life opportunities for those affected by human trafficking.

During inVOYAGE Madrid 2024, participants will join hands to assemble kits containing health and personal items donated by local hotels. These kits are not just collections of items; they represent a lifeline for numerous women striving to escape their current situations. Through the collaborative effort of our inVOYAGERs, we’ll aim to provide resources for women to step out of the challenging circumstances they face, fostering an improvement in their overall quality of life. It's a small step, but one that brings hope and tangible support.
