Corinthia plans new luxury hotel in Moscow

The luxury hotel brand is expanding its presence in the Russian luxury hotel market with plans for a new Moscow property, which will be its second hotel in Russia.

IHI, owners of the Corinthia Hotels Group, said it is acquiring a minority share in a company being formed with a consortium of investors to acquire a landmark property at 10, Tverskaya, Moscow’s principal avenue leading onto the Kremlin and Red Square.

The property has a listed façade and houses the famous 19th century Filippov Bakery. The development will include a luxury Corinthia Hotel, branded serviced apartments for sale and high-end retail.

IHI plc has had a presence in Russia since 2002, when the company acquired and later redeveloped five historic properties on the main boulevard in St Petersburg, including the Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg and the Nevskij Plaza Retail and Commercial Centre.

Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg offers stunning views of the city from an unbeatable location perfect for exploring the museums, shops and historic sites of Russia’s cultural capital.

The hotel has 388 rooms in total, several restaurants and bars, plus 17 meeting rooms with a total capacity for up to 1,000 guests, making it the largest five-star conference and meeting facility in the city. A recent refurbishment project has included a contemporary makeover of guest rooms, plus an update to the lobby concept.

Corinthia Hotels is attending inVOYAGE 2019.
