The Brief
Destination Asia (DA) Singapore was engaged by one of the largest European insurance companies, a leading provider of property, health and life insurance, to organise a farewell evening which was to be the highlight of its conference programme and showcase the destination.
The client has been organising this conference annually for its agents for more than 75 years, and it is the highest possible accolade that participants can receive for their performance. The last evening is the key highlight and should close the conference in a memorable and unique way.
DA Singapore reviewed previous events and decided to change the strategy slightly from the normal approach and suggested a “Singapore Style Dine-Around” in the Marina Bay Area, that showcased the destination in a fun and unique way.
DA Singapore was appointed to plan and execute this event that had a number of elements that needed to work seamlessly together including:
-Plotting and planning a unique programme
-Sourcing suitable venues and partners to achieve desired effect
-Drafting a detailed plan for the entire evening
-Design work and AV production at the highest level
-Booking and contracting with the respective venues
-Coordinating with the respective venues for creating of unique food and beverage experiences
-Coordinate and manage the transportation, different authorities and support teams to deliver
From the start, the client shared that the event was to convey to the attendees that their achievements are highly appreciated. The fun and entertainment factor play an important role for the attendees as well as to make them feel like rock stars.
The Solution
DA Singapore created a programme that moved 750 guests effortlessly through key venues and attractions that truly reflected the modern Singapore.
For the farewell evening on “Singapore Dine-Around”, all guests needed to start with an aperitif at the 1st venue but there was not enough capacity for the whole group of 750 guests at the same time. DA Singapore proposed to move guests in waves all joining at the final destination.
First stop: Welcome drinks
All guests were accompanied by respective guide in waves to arrive at LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar, which is set against Singapore’s spectacular skyline located at the iconic Marina Bay Sands at 57-storeys above ground with 180-degree views of the city, where they enjoyed an aperitif and welcome drinks. Upon arrival at LAVO, guests were greeted with a specially curated cocktail inspired by the view from a talented mixologist. With a top Local DJ spinning music in the background the mood was set for a truly memorable night. The guests were presented with a coloured wristbands, which lit up when they needed to depart from LAVO to the next venue via coach.
Second stop: Starter
Guests arrived at the Singapore Flyer, which is Asia’s largest giant observation wheel. Standing at a staggering 165m from the ground, the Flyer offers a breath-taking, panoramic views of the Marina Bay and beyond. DA Singapore operations team coordinated with the Singapore Flyer team to arrange groups of at least 20 guests to be loaded in per capsule where cocktails, beverages were served within 30 mins of the ride.
Guests were then escorted to an exclusive jetty (which needed to specially arranged) close to the Singapore Flyer to embark onto a traditional bumboat to the alighting jetty at Marina Barrage to alight and stroll to the final venue for the evening.
Third stop – Main course
Guests arrived by the foot of the stunning Flower Field Hall at Gardens By The Bay. The venue is set within the colourful gardens of Flower Dome with spectacular views of the Marina Bay waterfront, any event at Flower Field Hall will impress guests with an unforgettable sensorial experience. A three-piece band was engaged to keep the guests relaxed and entertained for the evening.
