EDITION to open eight new hotels

EDITION Hotels has announced it will open eight new luxury hotels across three continents by the end of 2022, with its much-anticipated Reykjavik property the first to open this summer.

The Reykjavik EDITION

The new openings also include sites in Rome, Madrid, Dubai, Tampa, Doha, Mexico’s Riviera Maya at Kanai and EDITION’s second property in Tokyo.

The luxury lifestyle brand – created by renowned hotelier Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International – said that the planned openings underscore the brand’s strong growth and will bring the portfolio to a total of 19 properties globally.

Located in the historical, scenic heart of downtown Reykjavik by Old Harbor port, The Reykjavik EDITION is close to Laugavegur Street, the city’s vibrant shopping district, and the Harpa Concert and Conference Center.

With 253 rooms and suites, The Reykjavik EDITION will house a rooftop, signature restaurant, destination bar and a café, spacious meeting and event spaces (502 sqm) and a spa.

Slated to open in late 2021, The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza (below) will be situated just off Chuo Street, one of the largest upscale entertainment and shopping destinations in the city.

The newly constructed property will include 86 guest and suites, three incredible food and beverage destinations including rooftop bar, together with meeting studio and fitness centre.

The Rome EDITION, the brand’s first Italian property, will feature 95 guest rooms and suites, including a Penthouse suite when it opens later this year. Located in the heart of Rome, it will offer a signature restaurant with outdoor dining space, a Punch Room Bar with exceptionally crafted cocktails, Rooftop Terrace with swimming pool and customisable indoor and outdoor event spaces.

Situated in downtown Dubai, The Dubai EDITION (below) will be located in one of the city’s most popular locations, opposite the world-famous Dubai Mall. Opening in late 2021, the hotel will feature 275 rooms and suites, multiple food and beverage outlets, pool, spa and fitness centre, meeting rooms and a flexible ballroom.

The Madrid EDITION is expected to make its debut in early 2022, with 200 rooms, five unique food and beverage outlets including a signature restaurant, cocktail bar, Sky Bar and rooftop terrace, together with an outdoor pool, fitness centre and spa and flexible studios for hosting creative meetings and events.

Situated within the new 56-acre Water Street Tampa neighbourhood, The Tampa EDITION will be home to 172 rooms and suites and six food and beverage outlets, including a signature restaurant, rooftop bar and terrace, when it opens early next year.

Located on a pristine beachfront site on the Caribbean coast, EDITION Hotels’ first property in Mexico is expected to open in mid 2022. The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai will offer 180 rooms, six food and beverage outlets, destination spa and multiple event spaces including an extensive outdoor deck for large scale events and parties.

And finally, The Doha EDITION is anticipated to open in late 2022 in Doha’s central business district, West Bay, which edges the Persian Gulf. The hotel will have 200 guest rooms including 29 suites, two restaurants, three bars and a nightclub and nearly 929 sqm of event space.
