Experience This: Belmond Italy

The sweet art of doing nothing…could this sound more appealing? Belmond has introduced a series of new experiences, under the banner of doing nothing, to embrace the Italian pleasure of ‘dolce far niente’.

This new series of curated unusual travel experiences around Italy includes lazy afternoons spent enjoying the surrounds of the Tuscan forests through to magical parties as dusk falls on Venetian rooftops.

Using the striking backdrop of some of Belmond’s most iconic properties, this new offering embraces the sweet art of doing nothing from some of the most luxurious vistas in the country.

At the Belmond Castello di Casole guests are invited to be at one with nature and enjoy an evening at the Enchanted Table, which is suspended from a towering oak tree, lit by candelabra and twinkling lights and covered in a traditional Tuscan feast.

Meanwhile, it is two wheels only at the Belmond Hotel Splendido, with its Tastes of the Lands bike and wine tour that sets off along one of Portofino’s prettiest trails, through the Mills valley and protected parks to an eco-farm held by La Portofinese.

More indulgence is to be had at the Belmond Grand Hotel Timeo, which will host the intimate Otto Geleng Pop-Up restaurant from May through until October, welcoming 16 guests to dine alfresco an eight-course seafood menu, served looking out on to the majestic Mount Etna and Ionian Sea.
