Experience this… spa tripping in 2019

Start the new year with wellbeing in mind and book your trip to one of the hottest spas due to open across the next 12 months. The much-awaited relaunch of Raffles Singapore is set for August 2019, and among the overhauled 115 suites and art gallery, guests can find a new spa emphasising holistic wellness.

After spending an afternoon unwinding and trying out the new treatment menu at the renovated hotel, guests can sit and relax in the legendary Tiffin Room, which dates back to 1892 and admire the carved wood and mirror wall panelling.

Closer to home, the Nobu Barcelona, designed by Rockwell Group’s Greg Keffer, will open in the middle of the year bringing an additional 250 rooms and suites to this cool city.

Japanese touches are evident throughout, from the traditional crafts such as kintsugi, an allusion of the Shinto gates and none more so in the spa, which was inspired by an urban Japanese bathhouse.

For an altogether more daring experience, brace yourself for the chill factor at the new Whitepod Resort set in the Swiss Alps. Stay in an eco-friendly sleeping pod and book in to the Zen Pod Suite for a panoramic view across the stunning snowy surrounds, which can be enjoyed from the sunken Japanese ‘zen’ bed or the traditional Furo bath. Reflexology, sports massage, Ayurveda and a slew of relaxing treatments are all on offer.
