inVOYAGE update: Pause, Recalibrate, Press Play…

Richard Joslin, inVOYAGE CEO & Founder

What a year it’s been so far!  The past six months have been a sobering and challenging time for the vast majority of us across the events industry.

Right now, as an event team, we would normally be putting the final touches in place for inVOYAGE 2020, which was scheduled to take place in Mykonos next month.  Instead, we took the incredibly difficult decision to reschedule the event as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 situation.  This was not a decision we took lightly – we consulted with a number of our partners and stakeholders internationally as well as internally with the team.

It’s no secret that this pandemic has had an unprecedented effect on the events industry, significantly impacting the global community and it is heart-breaking to see so many of our friends and colleagues detrimentally affected by this crisis.

However, through all this it has also been encouraging and gratifying to experience our industry coming together, albeit somewhat virtually, in support of one another.

As an industry we must bounce back and to do so we have to rebuild confidence around us and with our clients in a safe and sustained way.

At inVOYAGE we are doing this in a number of ways.

Firstly, and perhaps most significantly, we have scaled-up to bring the industry a choice of two inVOYAGE events for the first time in 2021, creating options, whilst also enabling us to run smaller and safer events.

  • inVOYAGE Lucerne, Switzerland, 21-24 March 2021

  • inVOYAGE Mykonos, Greece, 03-06 October 2021

Secondly, we have launched inVOYAGE Digital with a hugely increased reach and activity, enabling our community to run bespoke digital campaigns through the inSPIRE Edit and our social media channels to a very focused and specific audience of high-end events professionals.

Finally, we have built on our digital events offering, creating virtual and hybrid solutions (more news on this soon) to drive greater client success alongside a relaunch of our website and further development of the inVOYAGE event app to give greater access and capability to our community – all targeted at initiating even better and safer interactions and more ability to create events and do business.

More than ever we are committed to serving inVOYAGERS by creating greater opportunity and connectivity, whilst ensuring the highest duty of care through our own practices as well as those of our partners.

We owe immense thanks to our partners for helping us to create all of this, from our tech partners at Eventtia to our flight partners at All About Flights as well as our esteemed 2021 host partners:   Myconian Collection and Horizon DMC in Mykonos and Greece and the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau, Lucerne Convention Bureau, Bürgenstock Resort and Bucher Travel all in Lucerne and Switzerland.

At inVOYAGE we are looking forward with optimism and encouragement for a year of personal connectivity and business development in 2021.

We’re looking forward to working with the very best events agencies, corporate events teams, luxury hotels, DMC’s and destinations over the coming year.  So, keep in touch, keep safe and do well.

Kindest regards,

Richard Joslin, CEO
