Hyatt expands luxury portfolio in China

Park Hyatt Shenzhen

Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has boosted its presence in China with the opening of two new luxury properties in the fast-growing south-eastern city of Shenzhen this month.

Park Hyatt Shenzhen, which opened on 1 August, sits atop a 48-story skyscraper in the heart of the Futian central business district in Shenzhen.

Within walking distance of Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center and offering more than 1,500 square metres of on-site event space, the property is ideal for corporate groups and business events.

The hotel features 195 spacious guestrooms and suites incorporating subtle contemporary Chinese detailing, ranging from the artwork to the lantern-style pendant lighting to the minibar resembling a modern Chinese cabinet.

Drinking and dining options include Living Room on Level 33, offering afternoon tea and evening drinks alongside stunning views of the Shenzhen skyline and Garden Pavilion, serving up classic and authentic Cantonese cuisine as well as Sichuan and Jiangnan specialties.

Further dining options and a spa offering an indoor lap pool and a range of relaxing treatments, will open in late August.

Also opened this month, the Hyatt Regency Shenzhen Yantian offers 298 rooms in a new Recreational Business District located in the heart of Yantian District, neighbouring Dameisha Beach and Overseas Chinese Town East along a 12 mile golden coast.

Within an hour’s drive to Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, the hotel is also half an hour to Shenzhen Railway Station and only a five-minute drive to the Shatoujiao port of entry to Hong Kong.

The hotel offers several fine dining restaurants that cater to varying tastes and group sizes, including; XIANGYUE, a Chinese Restaurant on the 6th floor providing authentic Cantonese flavours; Market Café, a stylish all-day dining restaurant where guests can enjoy global delicacies; and The Lounge for afternoon tea or cocktails.

Planners have 2,321 square metres of meeting and event space to play with, including a 1,200-square metre pillar-free grand ballroom and five meeting rooms.
