Hotel de la Ville opens in Rome
This week an 18th century palazzo will breathe a new lease of life in the Eternal City. The iconic Hotel de la Ville, a Rocco Forte hotel, is set to open on 23rd May bringing a blend of Roman classical style and contemporary chic to Rome.
Located at the top of the Spanish Steps, near its sister hotel, Hotel de Russie, the property has a number of exciting spaces to discover, from vibrant bars and dining spots through to an enchanting courtyard for people-watching and a celestial Sicilian spa for the ultimate downtime.
The striking 104 rooms and suites have been designed by Olga Polizzi and Tommaso Ziffer, resulting in an elegant yet playful style which fuses effortlessly the contemporary furnishings with decadent fabrics that hint at the palazzo’s former glories. Marble bathrooms and a view out across the Sistina complete the scene.
This is a place to relax and indulge, from the fresh Roman cuisine masterminded by Michelin-starred chef Fulvio Pierangelini, through to the cute Italian street-side bistro, and the elegant Mediterranean inspired restaurant looking out onto the courtyard. As dusk falls, head up to the rooftop to sink a few cocktails six floors above the city.
