Shangri-La breaks ground on Melbourne property

The luxury hotel brand will make its debut in the capital of the Australian state of Victoria in 2022.

Shangri-La, Melbourne will be part of the $565 million Sapphire By The Gardens development by S P Setia.

Construction has begun on the two-tower building, located in the north east corner of Melbourne’s CBD, near the culture and theatre precinct and overlooking the Carlton Gardens and Royal Exhibition Centre.

The luxury five-star Shangri-La Hotel, Melbourne is expected to feature an estimated 500 guest rooms with three levels of amenities for guests to enjoy, including a sky lobby, restaurants, spa, fitness centre, pool and a state-of-the-art ballroom.

The second tower will include some 300 luxury residential apartments as well as office space.  The two towers will be joined by a striking Sky Lounge on level 46 and retail space will occupy the lower levels of the development.
