Sleek Conrad set to debut in Washington, DC

With a sleek all-glass exterior that wraps around its ten floors and 360 rooms, the striking Conrad Washington, DC will open its doors in the US capital in February.

The hotel’s concept was envisioned by renowned Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron, best known for landmark projects like the Olympic Stadium in Beijing and The Tate Modern in London.

It will offer 32,000 square feet of elevated meeting space bathed in natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as three outdoor terraces, a rooftop bar and dedicated event terrace featuring panoramic views of the U.S. Capitol.

The property’s signature restaurant, Estuary, is a creation by James Beard nominees and “Top Chef” alumni, Bryan and Michael Voltaggio.

Rounding out the hotel’s distinct offerings is a new programme called the Sakura Club – an exclusive facility on the 10th floor of the hotel for club level rooms and suites.

Deriving its name from the Japanese word for cherry blossom, the Sakura Club offers a serene environment featuring meals made to order by a private chef, a dedicated club concierge, use of private meeting rooms, priority reservations at Estuary and special access to rooftop bar events.

Art lovers will enjoy the hotel’s contemporary art collection inspired by the Washington Color School movement and curated by consulting firm Tatar Art Projects.

The hotel anchors the second phase of CityCenterDC, a high-end, mixed-use development in downtown Washington, DC featuring a collection of upscale retail stores and eateries.
