This autumn the Mandarin Oriental Marrakech will showcase the very best of contemporary French cuisine as Michelin-starred chef Thierry Marx will take over the hotel’s elegant Mes’Lalla restaurant until the end of November.

Creator of epicurean delights, Marx received his first Michelin star in 1988 at Roc en Val in Tours and another in 1991 at Cheval Blanc in Nîmes and combines French cuisine with inspiration taken from his travels across the globe.

Taking his avant-garde approach to cooking from his current residence, the Mandarin Oriental Paris, Marx will overhaul Mes’Lalla’s menu with his unconventional recipes, which include salmon with seaweed, carpaccio of octopus and zucchini with marinated peach and marjoram jus.

The dining experience will take place against the backdrop of the property’s stunning Berber and Moorish inspired interior while after a heady lunch, guests can take a walk in the vast gardens and discover the olive groves, roses and Bougainvillea plants or venture out in to Marrakech Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Meanwhile, the inviting spa, with its soaring arches reminiscent of mosques and cathedrals, shouldn’t be missed.
