Love for Lucerne
We invited some of our inVoyagers to share some insights around what they’re most looking forward to at Lucerne and what big plans they have in store for the year ahead. As a side note, we always love to hear your news and share it with our wider community so if you’ve got some exciting plans in the pipeline, please let us know.
Louis Gielen, Managing Director for The Boosting Group, responsible for developing new programs and sales is attending Lucerne this year as a buyer.
What exciting things are happening for your brand in 2022?
2022 is a challenge for The Boosting Group as we have many postponed projects to rebook, reschedule and execute. This is a Covid-proof way so that every participant can feel safe and relaxed. One of the challenges will be to convince not only our end client but also the participants of our events and incentives. What better way to do this than to discover and visit the venues yourself first? This way, all parties hear the information first hand. Another challenge is to create new and fascinating incentive programmes within Europe. Today, our customers prefer to travel within a range of 2 to 3 hours (flight) so this is something that we will be working on.
What are you most looking forward to at Lucerne?
I’m really looking forward to learning more about the venue and region where we will be staying as well as learning more about the programmes and venues that are on offer for our incentive groups. I love networking and making new contacts as well as reconnecting with relations/friends from the past editions. And of course… meeting the InVOYAGE-family again!!
Kerry Walsh attending Lucerne as a buyer this year, who runs Hatch Events and is supported by her incredible team of inspirational women.
What exciting things are happening for your brand in 2022?
We are in a strong position moving forward but only if we react quickly. The marketplace is currently de-stabilised but the opportunity is there for fresh approaches from small boutique agencies and our pipeline is looking quite promising both for the UK and international events. Presuming we don't get any more bumps in the road along the way…
What are you most looking forward to at Lucerne?
The old adage, “It’s not what you know, but who you know” is truer than ever today. I am looking forward to meeting like-minded individuals and, subsequently, leveraging the best contacts within the events industry. This is invaluable in today’s competitive market. Opportunity is there to be had! As is expert advice on specific commercial challenges. There is no need to trawl through web sources and white papers – casual approaches and face-to-face appointments with key suppliers are a perfect way to ask questions. When you attend these forums it allows you to examine, handle, compare, see, smell, taste, experience and test-drive the destination you are visiting.

We recognise that the success of our industry is closely linked to the preservation of our island’s natural environment. The management of Beachcomber Resorts and Hotels is committed to achieving best sustainability practices and behaving responsibly. Just to give an overview that our mission towards environment started well before (mid '90s), as an EarthCheck Silver certified collection of resorts, we can better measure, manage and reduce our environmental impact and monitor our social projects, and "Walk our Talk".
Our Environmental and Social charter presents a list of initiatives introduced in our endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint and contribute towards a cleaner, safer and more sustainable planet, with greater support to community partners, through the engagement of our Artisans and stakeholders as we encourage our guests to participate in our sustainability projects.
What are you most looking forward to at Lucerne?
First of all, I'm very excited to reconnect with our partners to exchange our past two years of experience during the Covid period and also share with them our commitments for future plans. I’m sure that we will have new contacts during the event with whom I will be able to share and exchange views and ideas. Hoping that 2022 will be The Year, as the last few months have been very challenging for group business.
