Windstar Cruises is ramping up its culinary creds with the launch of a new partnership with renowned chef, Anthony Sasso.

As one of the youngest chefs to be recognised by the Michelin Guide, Sasso is one of the rising stars creating contemporary and inventive Spanish cuisine inspired by his own travels across the Iberian Peninsula.

Travellers on Windstar’s prestigious small ships, Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride, will be able to sate their appetites by feasting at a new speciality restaurant onboard the vessels.

Named Cuadro 44, which translates to  “Frame 44” in Spanish, after the ship’s numeric location for where the restaurant will reside, the restaurant will be set on deck six and can seat 38 diners.

The communal table is ideal for family-style dining and sharing small plates while at the chef’s counter, a group of guests can watch the skilled kitchen team in action.

Gastronomes won’t be disappointed by the menu which includes jamón ibérico, lamb chops from Catalonia, served with a mint salsa verde and the popular pulpo gallego, Galician-style octopus, topped off with the Madrid indulgence that is churros served with spicy hot chocolate and fresh seasonal fruit.

Cuadro 44 by Anthony Sasso is scheduled to debut first on Star Breeze in February 2020, followed by Star Legend (July 2020) and Star Pride (November 2020). The first visited ports for all 3 ships’ post-refurbishment will be in Spain.

Windstar Cruises will be attending inVOYAGE 2019 in Monaco on 6-9 October.
