Samba, Sunsets and more: Behind the Scenes of inVOYAGE x Rio

Find out what’s waiting for you at inVOYAGE x Rio as we catch up behind the scenes with Mariana, CEO and Deborah, Groups & Incentives Specialist at Passion Brazil for an exclusive look at our inVOYAGE x Rio programme. From hands-on Samba workshops to the bohemian charm of Rio’s Santa Teresa District, get ready to experience the very best Brazil has to offer …

Emily, inVOYAGE: Deborah and Mariana it’s lovely to have you with us today – can you believe it’s just 2 weeks until our inVOYAGERS land in Rio de Janeiro for our much-anticipated Latin American debut! What does it mean to be our DMC partner and to be right in the centre of all the action?

Mariana, Passion Brazil: It's a privilege to have been chosen to organise this event with inVOYAGE for the first time in Latin America! For us as a DMC, it’s both a challenge and an excellent opportunity to showcase our expertise and professionalism to the inVOYAGE community. Rio is our home and we’re looking forward to showcasing it to all our inVOYAGE guests and partners.

Emily, inVOYAGE: We can’t wait! And what about Rio as a destination? What do you believe sets the city apart when it comes to incentives and what in particular are you excited about showcasing in our inVOYAGE programme?

Mariana, Passion Brazil: Rio is an incredible destination that combines the best of culture, history, nature and gastronomy all in one place. The city has a vibrant energy all year round, making it a perfect choice for an incentive. There are many traditional “must see” attractions you’ll know of in Rio de Janeiro, but our approach has always been to add a more authentic touch to each experience - to surprise and delight! So that’s what we’re really looking forward to doing as the partner DMC here at inVOYAGE x Rio. Get ready for a truly incredible event!

Emily, inVOYAGE: Sounds incredible! And turning to your Deborah, as a DMC and local expert, what unique insights or local touches have been incorporated into the event that attendees might not experience elsewhere? How do you see these elements reflecting the spirit of Rio and inVOYAGE?

Deborah, Passion Brazil: Without revealing too much of the programme and spoiling too much of the surprise, what I can say is that in planning the programme with inVOYAGE we’ve really focused on reflecting the spirit and soul of Rio. As Mariana said, for us it’s always been important to show the authenticity of the destination and we’re looking forward to sharing that with you all here at inVOYAGE x Rio.

Emily, inVOYAGE: And in terms of the activities we’ve got planned for our inVOYAGERS. How do you think this helps showcase Rio as a destination and the opportunities the city offers for incentives?

Deborah, Passion Brazil: We’ve selected the iconic places in Rio that you simply cannot miss and that lend themselves well to incentives. We’ve also focused on bringing the “carioca” lifestyle to life with Brazilian people, music, dancing and gastronomy. The rest you’ll see for yourself when you join us in Rio!

Emily, inVOYAGE: Now as you know, we’ll be heading to Rio just ahead of Carnival, what can you tell us about the history of Carnival and its significance for Brazil? And what tips would you give for event planners looking to take a group to Brazil during Carnival?

Deborah, Passion Brazil: For us, Carnival is a symbol of national identity, creativity, music and dance, it celebrates the diversity of the Brazilian people and is a powerful social and economic engine for the country. Each city celebrates Carnival in its own style meaning it’s a season filled with many festivities throughout the country. All in all, it’s the biggest party in the world and the largest street festival on the planet – and the perfect way to celebrate the vibrancy of Brazil!

When it comes to tips for planning an event in Carnival, without being too biased, we’d always suggest relying on your DMC partner to organise and adapt according to the best logistics for the period. That’s because we can use local knowledge to guarantee a safe and unforgettable experience for all our guests during what’s already a very busy time in Brazil!

Emily, inVOYAGE: And what about outside of the Carnival period, do you have any tips or advice for any of our inVOYAGERS currently looking at planning an event in Rio?

Mariana, Passion Brazil: Again, as Deborah said, trust in a professional DMC to provide not only the best service, but also reliable partners to ensure a responsible operation, provide insider tips and “out of the box” realistic ideas. Let us welcome you to our home!
